We had to put Compton Curated on hold for a moment as we were busy packing boxes. Let me take a step back and fill in some gaps. It's been quite busy these past few months and we are just now coming up for some air.

A unique opportunity to purchase some land just up the road from our house presented itself and after some deep thought and consideration (or saying YES! on the spot and figuring it out later) we decided to go for it.

Making the decision to buy the land set off a series of dominoes, the first one being our preference to sell our home now. Sure the market is great, but it was rooted more in conservative financial planning and not wanting the stress of mortgages, construction loans, and a moving target of when to sell and when we will move in. It wasn't an easy call as we raised our girls there, built chicken coops and treehouses, started our annual Comptoberfest tradition, celebrated holidays, and at the end of the day our house was part of us. Perhaps fueled by the upheaval of the pandemic and the reality that life is short, we made a family choice to embrace the unknown and go for it.

Between the packing of boxes, moving things out, and finding a temporary place to live, life has been a little stressful. Thankfully, with the aid of family and friends, we finally got it all done!

We sold our house at the end of the June and have been spending our summer at Girls Camp. We're hoping to spend the next few weeks showing you all the progress and spending the month of August getting mentally ready for the adventure that lies ahead. Thanks for hanging with us during this process and we can't wait to share where this takes us.

Here's a gem from our move-in day 12 years ago!
